CLIPCO Nonprofit Website Redesign

CLIPCO’s old website was outdated visually, hard to navigate, and not mobile friendly, making it difficult for parents and community supporters to find what they needed quickly. For a nonprofit that runs entirely on community funding and parent volunteers, a website that feels trustworthy and easy to use directly affects whether people donate, volunteer, or stay engaged. The redesign needed to modernize the experience without losing the warmth and community feel that defines the organization.

CLIPCO is a parent volunteer nonprofit that raises funds to support the Cupertino Language Immersion Program (CLIP) at Muir Elementary School and Miller Middle School. The organization needed a modern, responsive website to better communicate its mission, showcase its programs, and make it easier for parents and community supporters to donate, volunteer, and stay informed. I redesigned the outdated WordPress site from the ground up, restructuring the information architecture, renaming and reorganizing pages, revising content for clarity, and building the new design using the Twenty Twenty-Four theme with a custom color system based on the CLIPCO logo. A modern serif font was selected to complement the program’s Mandarin immersion theme.

The homepage sets the tone for the whole site, leading with a clear mission statement and four key stats that immediately establish the scale and community impact of the program. Below the hero, the page walks visitors through the three program categories CLIPCO supports, upcoming events, and a donation call to action. The layout is designed to serve two audiences at once, including parents already involved who need quick access to schedules and resources, and new community supporters who need to understand what CLIPCO does and why it matters before they contribute.

The About page provides deeper context on both CLIPCO as an organization and the CLIP program it supports. The content was restructured and rewritten for clarity, making it easier for first-time visitors to understand the relationship between CLIPCO, the school district, and the students it serves.

The redesign replaced an outdated, non-responsive site with a clean, modern experience that works across devices and makes critical information like donation options, volunteer opportunities, and program details easy to find. The site serves 600+ CLIP students across two schools and acts as the primary touchpoint for community funding that is 100% parent and community driven. As a recently launched project, engagement and conversion data is still being gathered, but the structural and visual foundation is now in place to support CLIPCO’s fundraising and community goals for years ahead.
